My Journey to Nurture Life and Faith Coaching

A few years ago when I finished a role in my local church, I was trying to work out what was next for me. I saw someone asking for help in a Facebook Group to do with meal prep for their family. It got me thinking about how I could offer services to people around supporting them with everyday life issues. I was talking to someone about this and they said it sounded like Life Coaching. I explored this briefly but didn’t do anything about it. The idea of coaching people has not gone away.

In 2022/2023 I completed a Coach Mastery Certificate. I am now using these coaching skills to equip church leaders as they nurture the people they serve.

My name is Jillian and I’ve been married to my husband for over 30 years. We have 2 young adult children.

With a background in Early Childhood teaching I’ve passionate about the nurture and development of the whole child, since before I had my own children. I was a leader with MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers), now called MumCo, for about 12 years, at a local, regional and national level. I was also a Community Educator with the Australian Breastfeeding Association , whilst my children were very young.

Since 2011 I’ve been working in church ministry. My roles have included Children’s and Family Pastor, then Faith Formation Pastor in my local congregation. I was also contracted as Day Camp, Intergen & Faith at Home Coordinator in my local Presbytery (Regional Denominational Office).

In 2022 I did 3 months as Supply Pastor for a small congregation. As part of this role I was specifically helping them through a process to work on their mission within the local community. For 10 months of 2023 I was the Supply Pastor in my local congregation whilst we were without a minister. Part of this role was working with the Church Council to reimagine and work on a plan to become a thriving intergenerational church again.

Since 2013 I’ve also been blogging at Feed My Family Blog. This originally started as a blog about my family’s journey with food intolerances. Over time it became more holistic about feeding the family in body, mind, heart and soul. I’ve also created a resource to support families with recipes that cater for food intolerances, as well as resources to help nurture faith at home.

With my passion for families, bringing the generations together and faith at home I offer a number of workshops for paid & unpaid ministry leaders, for parents, families and grandparents.

I’d love to come alongside, support, equip and empower you as you nurture others.
