This page has Intergenerational ideas for celebrating Season of Creation, whether it’s as a faith community or just as households.

What is the Season of Creation?
The season of creation is celebrated every year from 1 September to 4 October. This is an eucumenical celebration with churches around the world joining to celebrate our beautiful world that God created and renew our shared commitment to restoring and looking after the world God has gifted us.
In 2026 the theme is “Living Water” and focuses on the Biblical text from Ezekial 47:1-12.

Ecumenical Care for Creation Events
Our local Catholic church has a Care for Creation Group who have approached other local churches to join in Season of Creation events.
In 2025 we were invited to join a pilgrimage around the various Christian Churches in our community. The pilgrimage started at their church and people walk/drive (depending on mobility) to the various paritcipating churches in the community and finished back at the starting church. Each church along the route lead a Creation themed reading, reflection & prayer.
In 2026 with the theme being Living Water they’ve organised for author, Simon Cleary to share at a dinner about his memor ‘Everything is Water’ which is about his journey to follow the course of the Brisbane river. This will be followed up a few days later with a guided walk and reflection along the banks of the Bribane River.
Perhaps you could organise something similar in your local area?
